HUMS 145 - Understanding Human Diversity


Introduces the topic of cultural competency to human service professionals. Concepts such as intersectionality, oppression, and health disparities are discussed. Aspects of human diversity, such as sex, race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious affiliation, and ability status are examined. Prerequisite(s): None. (PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
