CRMJ 145 - Understanding Serial Killers

Studies serial murderers and their victims to understand what might lead a person to commit these crimes, the systemic factors that influence serial offending, and law enforcement’s ability to solve them. Introduces students to the behaviors and profiles of the individuals responsible for committing serial murders. Explores victims’ perspectives and how experts profile serial killers, motives, and prison sentences. Also discusses how serial killings influence society. Prerequisite(s): None. (PCS 1.2, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
