Health Conditions in OT
Description
Introduces students to common health conditions in
occupational therapy including psychosocial
conditions, physical dysfunctions, chronic
illnesses, and pediatric diagnoses. Emphasizes
understanding risk factors, causes, symptoms,
prognosis, and their impact on occupational
performance. Additionally, this course explores
how social determinants of health-such as income,
education, living conditions, and healthcare
access-influence these health conditions.
Prerequisites: C or better in OCTA 134, OCTA 138,
and OCTA 163 (PCS 1.2, 2 credit hours: 2 hours
lecture, 0 hours lab)
