Description

Introduces education through consideration of the history and philosophy of American education and expectations and beliefs society and individuals hold for it today. Introduces trends and issues in curriculum, instruction, school organizations, teacher-learner processes, and careers in education. Fifteen hours of field experience required. Note: Students must have a favorable background check and clear drug screen during the first two weeks of class as is required for placement in all Illinois schools.
Prerequisite: Qualify for ENGL 131.
(PCS 1.1, 3 credit hours: 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
