BIOL 164 - Microbes And Society(IAI: L1 903) Uses microbes as the type of organism to emphasize scientific inquiry through selected concepts in biology, such as organization, function, heredity, evolution and ecology. Topics may include a survey of micro-organisms, the role of micro-organisms in health and disease, ecological and economic roles of microbes and the role of micro-organisms in biotechnology. Due to the specific focus of this course, it is highly recommended that students have prior biology background, either high school biology or BIOL 130. Prerequisite(s): None. (PCS 1.1, 3 credit hours - 3 hours lecture, 0 hours lab)
