EDTR 260 - Teaching For Critical Thinking Examines the idea of critical thinking from a number of points of view. Introduces the participant to the common models of critical thinking. With this orientation established, the course further develops one model, that of Richard Paul, in greater detail. The central concepts of the course are critical thinking, critical thinker, reasoning, metacognitive processes, active vs. passive learning, elements of thought, and intellectual standards. These are discussed in the context of discipline-specific courses. Pass/Fail grades will be given. The course may be repeated three times for a maximum of four credit hours. Prerequisite(s): None. (PCS 1.6, 1 credit hour - 1 hour lecture, 0 hours lab)
